TRANSFER BALANCES OF TURKISH SUPER LIG'S BIG FOUR

Following the conclusion of the summer transfer window in the Turkish Süper Lig, the financial balance sheet of Turkish football's traditional "Big Four"—Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, and Trabzonspor—has been officially revealed. According to data provided by the football database platform Transfermarkt, the powerhouse clubs made massive squad investments, while revenues from player departures lagged significantly behind. While Trabzonspor managed to offset a major portion of their expenditure through player sales, the Istanbul giants ended the window with heavy net losses running into tens of millions of euros.

Fenerbahçe emerged as the highest spender of the summer transfer window, shelling out a total of €99.1 million on new signings. The yellow-and-navy side generated €29 million from outgoing player sales, concluding the period with a net deficit of €70.1 million. Meanwhile, Galatasaray registered the largest net loss among all four teams. The yellow-and-red club spent €78 million on additions while earning a mere €5.5 million in transfer sales, resulting in a substantial loss of €72.5 million.

Beşiktaş, undergoing a major roster overhaul, spent €79 million in transfer fees throughout the summer. The Black Eagles collected €10.2 million from player sales, finishing with a net transfer loss of €68.8 million. Among the elite quartet, Trabzonspor presented the most balanced financial figure; despite spending €65.8 million, the Black Sea club generated €52.2 million in sales, keeping their net loss to a manageable €13.6 million. Overall, this high-spending transfer period highlights the ongoing financial commitments and squad rebuilding efforts across Turkish football's top tier.
