Following England's 2-1 extra-time win over Norway in the World Cup quarterfinal that took them to the semifinal, manager Thomas Tuchel made notable comments at the press conference. The German manager showered praise on the duo of Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham, who have both reached six goals at the tournament.

Tuchel used the following words about the two stars' role in the team: "The attacking drill is pretty simple. I put Harry and Jude together and they do the rest. We don't need to be sorry that these two guys decide matches for us. They are top players and full credit to them." These words clearly laid out the division of labour in the manager's attacking plan.

For Bellingham, who carried his team to the semifinal with a brace against Norway, Tuchel's praise was even more emphatic: "Enough said. He does it every single match. World class." The young star took his tournament tally to six goals, drawing level with captain Kane.

The duo's numbers highlight how England's attacking burden has been shared at the tournament: Kane and Bellingham have scored 12 of the team's 13 goals. Furthermore, this marks the first time in history that two England players have scored five or more goals at the same World Cup. On the other hand, Tuchel also made clear that he was not happy with the team's overall performance against Norway; the manager emphasized that the display he found "sloppy" needs to improve before the semifinal. England will face Argentina in the semifinal in Atlanta on Wednesday.
