TUCHEL: I WOULD PICK CITY PLAYERS EVEN IF THEY ARE RELEGATED

England Manager Thomas Tuchel evaluated the Manchester City crisis during the press conference before the Croatia clash. The independent commission found Manchester City guilty by ruling that they violated 115 financial rules between the 2009-10 and 2017-18 seasons. Authorities determined that the club committed an irregularity by showing fake revenues exceeding 900 million pounds. The management officially appealed this decision. As a result, the league leader faces the danger of a points deduction or expulsion from the Premier League. Press members asked Tuchel about the national team fate of the City players in a possible relegation scenario. The German manager answered clearly and gave a great assurance to the players. Tuchel started by saying, "There is always a possibility," and used the following expressions: "I will always try to pick the best team for the camp, for the occasion, for the tournament and I will never rule out that they don't play in the top flight in their country. So, you need to look at this case-by-case." Tuchel underlined that the pitch performance will always remain the priority.

Marc Guehi, Elliot Anderson, and Nico O'Reilly took place in the current camp from the City squad. Phil Foden did not receive an invitation again. Tuchel stated that the players talked about this topic intensely in the camp. The coach emphasized that his squad was completely ready for the match. A possible relegation penalty will create a massive earthquake effect in English football. The City team waits for the legal process with anxiety. However, the national team doors will remain open even to the footballers who will play in the lower league. The players will completely get away from this off-pitch agenda and will focus only on the victory.
