United set sights on another name: Tyler Adams

Manchester United's midfield search this summer window has expanded to include another name. According to TeamTalk, Manchester United are considering a £35 million move for Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams. Despite agreeing personal terms in principle with AS Roma's Manu Kone, United are exploring multiple midfield options as they look to complete a third signing in the middle of the park.

There is direct interest from the club's owners behind this approach. According to the Daily Mail, the club's owners INEOS are considering making a bid for former Leeds United star Adams: "United have been interested in Adams for some time, and it's understood that the Bournemouth midfielder is still on a list of potential targets this summer. Unlike some of the other options, he would be more affordable at around £35m."

The player's inclusion on this list has also become clear. According to GiveMeSport journalist Sam Cohen, Adams is among the players the club is considering as the transfer window develops; it is recalled that United have already signed Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans this summer and are now seeking an experienced player capable of occupying a deeper role.

According to The Peoples Person, United's analysts consider the American statistically better than Manchester City's Golden Ball winner Rodri in some aspects; the 27-year-old, who represented the USA at the 2026 World Cup, has less than 24 months remaining on his contract, with Bournemouth reported to be open to a sale for the right fee.

The player's profile also explains this interest. Signed from RB Leipzig, Adams is recalled to be a key part of Andoni Iraola's high-intensity system at Bournemouth, known for his relentless energy and ball-winning ability.
