The months-long uncertainty over Vinicius Junior's future at Real Madrid could come to an end this week. According to AS, the club's management and the Brazilian star's representatives will hold a crucial round of talks this week to definitively settle the contract situation. Both sides reportedly want tangible progress and a long-term deal that keeps Vinicius at the Santiago Bernabeu.
With his contract expiring in the summer of 2027 and Arsenal closely monitoring the situation, Real Madrid's management has made clear their latest offer is final and not open to further negotiation. The club is said to be unwilling to risk losing the 2024 Ballon d'Or runner-up for free next summer, meaning a sale could be explored this window should he reject the terms. New head coach Jose Mourinho is also said to place great value on Vinicius and is keen to work with him.
According to the report, while there is a gap in valuation between the two sides, it is not considered insurmountable. Arsenal continue to monitor the situation closely, though PSG have publicly withdrawn from the race. Real Madrid have also been pursuing a deal for Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, a move that could add competition for Vinicius' spot on the left wing.
