Vinicius shines, Neymar returns: Brazil win 3-0

In the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage, Brazil beat Scotland 3-0 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami and left with a comfortable win. Carlo Ancelotti's Seleção, who set their course with Vinicius Junior's two first-half goals, also made headlines with the return to action of Neymar, long absent from the pitch.

In the match refereed by Mexico's Cesar Arturo Ramos and watched by 64,478 spectators, the stats laid out Brazil's overwhelming superiority. The Seleção were clearly ahead of their opponents on expected goals (xG) 4.41 to 0.87, on total shots 21-14 and on big chances 6-2. Despite a balanced 54-46 on possession, the effective side of the game was clearly Brazil. With this result the Seleção translated the power of their star-studded squad onto the pitch and kept up their challenge in the tournament.
