Speculation over the Manchester United captain's future has flared up once again. According to Di Marzio and La Stampa, Juventus are considering a move for Bruno Fernandes.

The concrete level of this interest has also become clear. According to Di Marzio's own report, there are no concrete talks yet between the Bianconeri and Manchester United; this picture was also confirmed by Juventus general manager Giovanni Carnevali: "The door to Bruno Fernandes has never been fully open, but to be honest, it isn't fully closed either."

The background to Juventus' interest has also been explained. The club is reported to have long admired Fernandes' qualities, seeing him as an ideal profile to raise the technical level of Luciano Spalletti's midfield; however, the operation faces significant obstacles.

Fee and salary hurdles are also complicating this file. Manchester United are reported to have set a £64 million fee for their captain, a figure described as out of reach given Juventus' current financial discipline process; the player is reported to earn £250,000 a week at United (more than €14 million net annually), a salary also incompatible with the Italian club's budget constraints.

Meanwhile, there is another name further ahead in the race. Galatasaray, having pursued big-name signings to be more competitive in the Champions League following their fourth consecutive title, are reported to want a new number 10 under head coach Okan Buruk, with Fernandes targeted for that role; according to Fanatik, Galatasaray are prepared to offer the player an annual salary of around £17 million (£325,000 a week).

The player's current situation also underlines the significance of this file. With his contract running until June 2027 and renewal talks with United reported to be progressing slowly, the 31-year-old contributed 21 goals and 22 assists in 58 appearances across all competitions last season; Al-Nassr and Real Madrid are also recalled to be among the clubs monitoring the situation.
